Media Concepts
A concept board is a form of stimulus material, comprising visual and/or verbal representation of an idea for a product or service, often outlining its attributes and benefits and used to present this idea to participants in research. These are usually mounted on large boards so a group of people can easily see them. Such concept boards may be quite polished and resemble advertisements, or they may be very rough and 'unfinished'.
For our groups concept board we used different images and texts to portray our short film. We had aspects of the film that we needed to focus on for example the synopsis, the characters, the props and the location of the short film etc. The ideas were placed down as a group, however we were allocated different jobs to make our concept board come together.

Media Concepts - Poster
The reason behind the creation of this concept board was to represent our advanced portfolio which is our short film to our audience (class peers) to help the understand the concept behind it. As a group we put ideas together to create this concepts board, we each had different roles: TASHIKA - created the Logo, title & digital images for location, NATHAN - created character profiles & layout plan, I looked into film influences, slogan & digital images for prop, KAREN - created the synopsis & text on poster.
Doppelganger Title
The Title of our short film was put in BOLD on the poster in order to convey the idea well enough to be seen from a distance. The term 'DOPPELGANGER' (which is incorrectly spelt on the poster) means an apparition or double of a living person which reflects our film completely. The style that the title is shown on our concepts board also contrasts out film as its designed as a reflection.

Theme & Genre
For our short film doppelganger we looked into the short film genre as it was part of our advanced portfolio. Short film are different as it does not adopt conventional Hollywood filming methods such as the length of the film short films are up to 20mins long whereas as Hollywood films are up to 2 hours long etc.
The sub-genre of our short film is social realism. A sub-genre is a category that is a subdivision of larger groups for example the genre for our advanced portfolio is short film and the sub-genre is social realism as stated above. As we knew that we was going to do a social realism sub-genre from our research and planning process we were able to be creative with the narrative.

Character profile
The character profiles are included in our concept board for the audience and members of our class to understand who will be playing what role within our short film.
These character profiles include a brief description about the roles they play, their characteristics and a brief explanation about each of them.
The pictures we used for this were real actors and actress's that will be used in our short film.

Location
The location of 'DOPPLEGANGER' was briefly shown in the concepts board through digital media (internet images). These images shows the audience or the viewer a feel or understanding of where our short film will be set, even though it is not our real location we had to represent to the audience that we wanted them to view. We did not put all the locations that our short film will be shot at as their were too many, however we put majority of the images on our concepts board.

Synopsis
The synopsis shows the audience what the short film consists of without giving the whole storyline away. It is an outline or brief overview of our short film which states:
" Have you ever thought your life could be different?
Illusive productions new short film about depression, highlighting the life of a young woman who is experiencing mental issues and hardship."
It also makes preferences to the cast and also our slogan. The image on the right was only a flat plan of how our synopsis would appear if it was shown on a DVD cover.

Through our slogan we tried to keep a sense of mystery behind it, which makes out audience think about what it could mean, as their are many meanings behind this slogan we have produced.
Other films that have influences our short film are such films like Vertigo, Mr Happy, Inception etc. These films have influenced our short film as they twist the audience perception itself, the storylines are not as straight forward as they seem which inspired to use a non-linear narrative and including a twist within out short film.
